The Frida Restaurant

It is hard to miss how proud the Mexicans’ are over Frida Kahlo and her contribution to the Mexican culture. You will find her picture on a lot of souvenirs. Frida lived between 1907 and 1954 and is famous for her remarkable and sometimes questioned art. Her pictures were often self-portraits and you will recognize her for her dark, quite sad and grave eyes and unplucked eyebrows.

A restaurant has been built in her memory. We tried it and were happily surprised by the friendly staff and unique service. The most memorable thing about the visit is when ordering a guacamole, dessert or Mayan coffee the staff makes the food in front of your table – always in a charming way. It adds that little extra to an otherwise nice restaurant with good food.

It is located on Avenida 5, Calle 12-14!

Some of her art works are portrayed on the walls
